Pastor Tim McGarvey has been the Senior Pastor at the Altoona Alliance Church since 1998. He has been serving in pastoral ministry since 1987, pastoring churches at Critchfield C&MA and Butler/Freeport Road (now Crosswinds Alliance). Growing up in Mahaffey, Pa, he is a graduate of Purchase Line High School and Toccoa Falls College.
He and his wife Brenda have four sons, Andrew (Meredith), Ryan (Kyley), Branden (Tiffany), and Bryce (Kortney). Four daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren Rayna and Lincoln, Greyson and Ryley.
He enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, kayaking, hunting, fishing, playing golf, disc golf and reading. His life verses are: Philippians 3:12, 14 for his personal life; and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 for ministry. He loves preaching and teaching God's Word, working with people and ministries, seeing people transformed and set free by the power of God, sending people into ministry and on missions trips, prayerwalking, shepherding and serving the church family with a prayer, care, share lifestyle.
