Pastor Steve joins the Altoona Alliance team with 23 years’ experience as a licensed official
worker with the C&MA. He has led an outreach ministry and retreat center for military
personnel in Louisville, KY and pastored churches in Clayton, OH and Bedford, PA. He
graduated from Youngsville High School in northwestern PA, earned a BS in Electrical
Engineering from Penn State, and became a second-career pastor after completing his MDiv at Asbury Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Sherry, have 1 daughter, Amanda (Adam) and 2 sons, Nick (Liz) and Justin; a
son-in-law and daughter-in-law whom they consider gifts from God; 2 grandsons – Ean and
Peyton, and 2 granddaughters - Kiertsyn and Raegan.
Steve enjoys time with his children and grandchildren and riding his motorcycle. His other recreational pursuits include relaxing at the piano or guitar and tinkering with home / auto projects. Romans 1:20 is a great reminder of the way he came to faith in Jesus (with a lot of help from ministry teams who visited his childhood church), and Joshua 3:15-16 come to life for him as he recalls God’s faithfulness to him and his family as they stepped out in faith, responding to His call to ministry.
Steve and Sherry feel blessed to have found a spiritual home with a great church family and for the opportunity to serve the Lord among them.
